Ofcourse, you run into things you’re not expecting. The French decided they needed to cut a piece from the rear chassis cross-member because of the waterpump. Martijn decided to fix this.
In our camper design, the door of the living space is on the right side, just after the drivers cab. But… that’s where currently the fuel tank resides. So, first real change: move it from the right to the left.
After removing the fuel tank, we noticed a fair bit of rust and wondered how severe it was. When removing it, Martijn punctured the tank. Well, better to find out now than later.
New holes are drilled so the tank supports can be moved from the right side of the truck, to the left.
The tank is fitted and the wiring for the dash fuel level meter is extended. Iris decided to use the soldering iron for the very first time.
